Perhaps that's how marriage turned to slavery?

Or did it? I heard a rumor it did, that people can lose their credentials, then they get stabbed in the head and elsewhere repeatedly, no credentials = no possible income, so they get sold around with no ability to own, travel (no car), sleep (no house), etc. This is popular and legal strategic slavery, and is as serious as doin it with a knife or gun. Break it by lettin them sleep around, or keep it by holding them to the thing they only said with a gun to their head or while bein lied to, then when they knew they weren't allowed to unsign. No reneg, no honest, it's a seriious but possibly subtle crime. Not even very subtle, nor is it powerful without violence backing it.
